Earl is getting very close. Probably will pass within 75 - 100 miles north, and bring tropical winds, possibly hurricane winds.

The Boston Red Sox are going on the road today. Actually tomorrow.

The Lads From Boston improved to 5-0 on their current road trip, with 3 of the wins achieved by outscoring the opponents, and the other 2 of them achieved by underscoring the opponents.

The Lads have the 4th best record in the American League, and would have the 3rd best record in the National League.

They'll have to win a few games by outscoring opponents to move up a bit.

We need a left guard

The Patriots still need a left guard.

However, there are 5 weeks to go before the season opens, and they are bound to get one of these:

One of the subs on the squad might develop, but that is far-fetched. I imagine they will get a player from another team, and might also trade a draft pick. Of course, the best solution would be to have Mankins sign a long-term contract.

A birther will go to jail

This will shut up the birthers. Actually, I bet they are thinking this will finally prove that Obama was born in Kenya. It will prove he was born in Hawaii, of course.

An Army doctor who served in Hawaii from 1999 to 2005 has been charged with refusing to deploy to Afghanistan because he questions whether President Barack Obama was born in the United States.

Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin said the order would not be legitimate if Obama did not meet the requirement that U.S. presidents be born on American soil.

Lakin is scheduled to be arraigned today at Fort Belvoir, Va.

Hawaii officials have repeatedly said they have records proving Obama was born in Honolulu, but the so-called "birther" movement continues to challenge that.

Lakin did not report to Fort Campbell, Ky., in April to prepare for deployment.

The Greeley, Colo., native said in a YouTube video that he chose to disobey orders.

The Army said Lakin is being arraigned on three counts of disobeying a lawful order, one count of missing movement and dereliction of duty.

The American Patriot Foundation said it is providing a civilian lawyer to defend Lakin and that he also would be represented by military counsel.

If convicted, he faces up to four years in a federal penitentiary, the foundation said.

Don't get satellite tv from sloop jones

My tv reception sucks because sloop jones stuck it to me.

What a dickhead.

He installed dish, knowing that I would not be able to ever get satellite 119, so I am stuck paying for a full dish subscription, but getting only 3/4 or so of the channels.

How can the Boston Red Sox keep winning by underscoring opponents? They must be wicked good. I think the lads need to come to st john and rent a villa from www.stjohnvillarental.com. That would be wicked good. Villas are in Cruz Bay and Coral Bay, and are used for Virgin Island vacations.

The lads are incredibly injured, and have now lost Kevin Youkilis to a freak thumb muscle injury. We get Jacoby Ellsbury back, and soon Dustin Pedroia, but lose Youk.

A storm in the Atlantic

There is a storm in the Atlantic.

Looks like it will be big, but I saw a prediction that it will reach only 70 mph and go north of us.

So who knows what these things do? I have not yet given up on the prediction science, but I can't tell what's happening, and no-one else can either.
